National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse (NTA)
"The National Treatment Agency for Substance Misuse is the new special health authority, established by government in 2001, with a remit to increase the availability, capacity and effectiveness of treatment for substance misuse in England . The NTA is working with central government, Drug Action Teams, service providers and commissioners, users and carers, research, training and academic institutions to improve the commissioning of drug treatment services, promote evidence-based practice, and improve the performance of treatment providers and commissioners."

Samaritans
Samaritans is available 24 hours a day to provide confidential emotional support for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

Lifeline
In 1971 the Lifeline Project opened a daycentre for drug users in Manchester . Since its foundation Lifeline has grown and developed, and now works in a diverse range of settings across the UK . Our purpose is to relieve poverty, sickness and distress among those persons affected by addiction to drugs of any kind, and to educate the public on matters relating to drug misuse.
